The service

Moon Moth Stories writes a new personalised bedtime story every night for your family, starring all the children on your account, on the plan you choose. If two stories in a row go unopened, new stories pause until you open one. Stories are written by AI and checked by a separate AI safety review before they reach you.

Plans and payment

Plans are billed monthly in Australian dollars after 7 days free. See Refunds and cancellation.

Who can use it

You need to be 18 or over and the parent or guardian of the children on your account, or have their permission. One account is for one household. Keep your sign-in email to yourself, because anyone who can open it can sign in.

What you tell us

You give us your child’s first name and the details that shape their stories. You let us use them only to write, illustrate and narrate your stories and to run your account. Don’t add anyone’s surname, address or other private details, and nothing hurtful or unkind about a real person.

Your stories

The stories, pictures and narration we make for your family are yours to keep, read, print and share with family and friends. Whatever rights we have in them, we give to you for your own family’s use. Please don’t sell them or use them in a business.

We keep a copy so your library works. We never put your child’s name, details or stories in an advert, or show them publicly, without asking you first in writing. Delete a story or your whole account and our copy goes too (see Privacy).

Stories are made by AI, so another family could get a story that looks a little like yours, and the law may not treat AI-made work as anyone’s copyright.

AI makes mistakes

Every story and picture is checked before it reaches you, but no check is perfect. If something isn’t right for your child, tell us. We’ll remove it and use it to make our checks better.

Using it fairly

Please don’t try to get around our safety checks, copy the service or its stories in bulk, resell it, or do anything that stops it working for other families. If an account breaks these terms, we may pause or close it. We’ll tell you why first, unless it’s putting children or the service at risk.

Changes

We keep improving Moon Moth Stories, so features will change. If we raise your price or make an important change to these terms, we’ll email you at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel before then. If we ever close the service, we’ll give you 30 days’ notice, time to save your stories, and a refund for any month you’ve paid for but can’t use.

Our responsibility

Our service comes with guarantees that can’t be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and nothing in these terms limits them. Beyond those guarantees, we aren’t responsible for loss we couldn’t reasonably have foreseen, or loss we didn’t cause.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia. If something goes wrong, email us first at hello@moonmothstories.com and we’ll work to put it right.
