How we look after your child's details, and what we check before a story reaches them.

What we ask for, and what we don’t

  • Your child’s first name, the pronouns they use and their reading level. Birth year is optional, and we never ask for a full date of birth.
  • Never a photo. Their picture-book look is painted from a short description you write.
  • No surname, address or school.
  • Children never have an account and never log in. There is no chat and no way for anyone to contact your child.

Every story is checked twice

The storyteller writes to our bedtime rules. Then two separate AI reviewers read every word, including the description of every picture, and either one can stop the story. They turn away real fighting or harm, injury or death, cruelty, weapons, anything frightening, worrying or unresolved endings, adult themes, real world tragedy, crude language, behaviour a child could copy and get hurt by, and famous characters or brands.

No character ever promises your child something in the real world, like a present, a visit or a trip. Promises stay inside the story.

Anything you ask us to leave out is checked as a hard rule, on every story.

If the check can’t run, the story is held back rather than sent unchecked. Your child still gets a story that night: a handwritten one we checked in advance, with their name in it.

Every picture is checked too

Before a picture goes in the book, a separate check looks at it. If it shows alcohol, weapons, anything frightening or a character from a film or TV show, it is redrawn. If it still isn’t right, we leave that picture out.

Who sees your family’s details

  • No ads inside your account, ever. Ad measurement runs only on our public pages (not this one), and never receives your child’s details or stories.
  • Stripe handles payments. We never see or store your card number.
  • Our website and database run in Sydney, Australia. The services that write, paint and narrate stories are named, with where they are, in our privacy policy.

You’re in control

  • Change what goes into stories, or what stays out, any time from your children’s settings.
  • Remove a child’s profile and their stories go with it.
  • Delete your whole account on Your plan. That permanently deletes every profile, story, picture and narration we hold for you.
  • Turn off story emails from any story email, or on Your plan.

If something’s not right

Under every story there’s a link: “Something not right with this story?” Tell us what was wrong and it reaches us straight away. We’ll look at the story and reply by email within one working day.
